Business Interests
- We regularly import high quality, jewelry, shoes, bags, shawls, scarfs, candles, home décor and diffusers from China – we are looking for vendors to supply us with high quality products.
- We are setting up a new brand for western apparel – we need to source knitted clothing from China (tee shirts, sweat shirts and hoodies, track pants, athleisure fabrics and clothing for sports apparel – we are also interested in joint venturing with Chinese partner for our new western wear retail brand.
- We are in process of setting up cut to pack knitted garment unit for export – looking for machine suppliers and fabric suppliers. Chinese firms who might want to joint venture manufacturing operations from Pakistan for export to USA and Europe markets.

- Ayesha Group of Companies is a well-known industrial group that operates from Lahore, Pakistan. The Group started its textile operations in 1972 when Ayesha Spinning Mills was incorporated. Since then, Ayesha Group has grown to 4 textile spinning mills comprising of 110,000 spindles, a leather tannery, a leather shoe factory, shoe retail (brand EPCOT), socks factory, an embroidery factory and a Fashion Retail Setup (Brand Cross Stitch.) The installed spindle capacity put the group amongst the largest yarn spinning groups in Pakistan. The leather units of the group are also substantial in size by which operate by the name of EPCT Private Limited. EPCT private limited has become the largest leather manufacturer and shoe factory in Pakistan. EPCT has a retail setup for the local market, which is known by the name of EPCOT SHOES with shops all over Pakistan. Our Socks unit is the 2nd largest in Pakistan is an all export-based factory compromising of all Italian Lonati Machines. The annual turn over for the group for the financial year 2023-2020 has touched 150 million USD. Ayesha Group proudly employs over 10,000 people in its various manufacturing and retail units.

Mr Muhammad Raza Baqir
Introduction
Mr. Mohammad Raza Baqir has been serving as Executive Director and Secretary General Northern Zone APTMA since 2019. Before joining APTMA, he served in the Federal Government of Pakistan for well over 35 years.

During the long tenure in government service, he worked against key positions including Collector of Customs, Sales Tax and Federal Excise, Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Member Federal Board of Revenue, Member Appellate Tribunal (IRS), Consul General of Pakistan at Sydney, Commercial Counsellor Copenhagen / Stockholm, Sr. Advisor Federal Insurance Ombudsman, Executive Director Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) and several other important positions. He holds Master’s Degree in English Literature and has successfully attended various Advance Courses in Management from Prestigious Institutions within the country and abroad like National School of Public Policy, NIPA, Kennedy School of Government (Harvard University) and Tax Institutions in UK, USA, Japan, Korea, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Belgium.

Introduction
Mr. Tahir Basharat Cheema is an Energy Advisor at APTMA. A known name in the energy sector of Pakistan who held various important positions in the Government of Pakistan including Managing Director, PEPCO.
Mr Cheema assists APTMA in all the matters regarding energy & its supply. He is a valuable addition & his appointment is in conformity with APTMA’s vision of creating excellence & professionalism in the structure.

Engr Tahir Basharat Cheema former MD PEPCO is the fore- most Power Sector specialist in the Country with 45 years of hands down experience . He was the first DG Energy Management and also served as the Chairman Energy Management Office at the Ministry of Water & Power . He has been the President of both the IEEEP and the Institute of Engineers Pakistan . At one time ,he was the Project Director for the WAPDA International Technical University .
