Belonging to the oldest and most respected family of Chiniot, Mr. Gohar Ejaz is the eldest son of Late Senator Mr. Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed (1940-1998), who had moved to Karachi with his father from Chiniot to Karachi at the age of 7 in the year 1947. His own qualifications preceding those of his time, with an MBA degree from IBA class of ‘62 as a stepping stone, he fast became one of the most successful businessman of his time. From 1962 to 1985 he stood as an iconic leader of the business community and in representation of his credibilities and efforts in the business world he became a member of the Senate of Pakistan in 1985. From here he handed over the reigns of his business organization to his son, Gohar Ejaz, who had just attained his graduate degree from Commerce College of Karachi who took on the responsibility and the challenge of managing the Trading Sector of the business in the family in the effort to fill into his father’s monumental title as ‘King of Commodities’ in Karachi.
Due to the unsteady law and order situation in Karachi, a decision was made to shift the business along with the next generation to Lahore in 1990. Mr. Gohar Ejaz, at the age of 24, moved to Lahore to begin his new journey, leaving behind two generations of Credibility and Goodwill in Karachi. He is the Chief Executive of ‘Ejaz Group of Companies’ compromising of Ejaz Spinning Mills & Ejaz Textile Mills Limited, respectively.

Under his dynamic leadership, the group commissioned its textile division in 1990 and set up its First yarn manufacturing unit in the name of ‘Ejaz Textile Mills Limited’ at Bhaipheru, progressing further in 1992 with another unit, ‘Ejaz Spinning Mills Limited’ at Sheikhupura with state of the art machinery and its own Power Generating Plant. The group employs more than 3000 people with an astounding turnover of Rs. 10.0 Billion Equivalent 100 Million Dollars.
Mr. Gohar Ejaz is also the Chief Executive of “The Lake City Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd”, a 2000 acre resort / residential project by the name of The Lake City having an 18-hole PGA golf course & 8000 luxury bungalows/villas, also featuring Serene Lakes, Landscape Architecture, Parks and Pavilions, Civic Amenities, Restaurants, Modern Cineplex, Golf Club and Shopping Mall.

In honor and memory of his beloved father, Senator Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed, Mr. Gohar Ejaz has established an incredibly modern and state of the art Dialysis Center at Jinnah Hospital in Lahore. The Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed Dialysis Center is run by the Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed Trust, functioning with 50 dialysis machines, averaging to a run of 50,000 Dialysis every year. The facility is free of cost to its patients with an Annual Budget of above Rs. 200 million.

Patron In Chief & Group Leader of ALL PAKISTAN TEXTILE MILLS ASSOCIATION (APTMA), the premier textile industry association of the country, since year 2010.
Served as Chairman APTMA for the year 2010 - 2011.

His selfless, dedicated and successful espousal for the cause of the industry for provision of essential wherewithal for optimizing its contribution to the economy and general welfare is a notable achievement.

He galvanized the industry to proceed forward with unison, turning adversity into a unifying and energizing force. As a vocal and fearless spokesman of the industry he is motivated by the patriotic desire to contribute to national good and well-being.

His successful representation for securing a free market operating regime brought benefit in the shape of increased production and enhanced textile exports that reached a record US$13 billion. Ensuring the free market mechanism brought much benefit to the value added sector and resulted in a resource transfer of Rs. 350 billion to the farming sector of the cotton economy.

He successfully fought to save the industry from gas and electricity supply disruptions. Due to his Endeavour’s for an equitable sharing and prudent management of energy distribution (electricity and gas) the woes of the industry were lessened, the wheels of production kept moving, employment remained intact and export commitments were abided with and national goodwill and honor upheld.

Zero rating for the textile industry value chain and exports brought into place as a result of his persistent representation of the merits of zero rating saved the industry from the hassles of obtaining refund and contributed positively to the economy.

Notable are his efforts to establish fore for top notch research as centers of excellence for the vertical and horizontal growth of cotton industry in Pakistan. His input for short and medium term planning for ensuring energy security for industry and other areas have been found to be positive and is helping to further matters in the right direction.

His vision for an interest rate regime that is globally competitive has its own merits and is all set to lead to increased industrial investment and growth when permitted internationally and provided domestically.

His vision for increasing industrial output to bring about increased exports from US$13 billion in 2018 to tune of the US$ 40 billion by 2023, US$2.5 billion investment per annum, one million new jobs every year has given direction to and has set the course for public planning accordingly.
Patron In Chief of ASSOCIATION OF BUILDERS AND DEVELOPERS OF PAKISTAN (ABAD), a national level representative organization of Builders and Developers, formed with the aim and objective of unifying and streamlining the construction activities of private sector.
